WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT??
"If I don't know how to be poetic from today, am not sure when I shall start."
Life always has a surprise for each one of us daily, but i don't know how i shall deal with this surprises. What I thought to be a beautiful dream now seems like a bitter reality. Words i now seem to identify with.
Its all a scope of memories that come but he never does I think part of me knew that this could happen its not what he said or did but the feeling that came with it thing is,i don't know if am ever going to feel the same or even if i should i knew his world moved too fast and his fire too bright but, i thought how can the devil be pulling me toward a person so much like an angel when he smiles at me maybe he knew that when he saw me maybe i lost my balance and, the worst part wasn't losing him but, losing ME.He took me to places i never had been,i was drowning and now am on the hard concrete ground. Cloud nine is an understatement for what i thought we had. Still in a daze for reality has now set in. Thought you would be happy for having me, the one thing you needed but seems it was all a game. Now that i got my heart, though in tiny little pieces i can now start my journey all the way back. it will take a long time to get there but am a brave girl I'll get there. Don't be surprised. I'll never be perfect but now am brave. If you were worth a while you'd be happy to see me smile. I'm not expecting sorry cos am busy finding myself. If this is a letter of hope or a long quote I do not know. Maybe its a feeling, maybe just words or poetry in the making. All I know is that it feels good to have written it.

MY CLOUD IS DARK
OOOOhhh how i do not feel like doing anything. Tired of doing nothing yet not doing something.
It is true that every day has its own evil, and its good too. But how difficult must life be, especially farther on when the evil of each day increases as far as worldly things go, if it is not strengthened and comforted by faith. And in Christ all worldly things may become better, and, as it were, sanctified. Theo, woe is me if I do not preach the Gospel; if I did not aim at that and possess faith and hope in Christ, it would be bad for me indeed, but no I have some courage.

AN ESCAPADE NEVER TO BE FORGETTEN
My mother once told me, "When the deal is too good think twice", but it was until just a few nights ago that i got to know the true sense of that statement.
Just a few nights ago i had arrived home from school at about 7 P.M, very tired i must add. This was one of those days one calls beautiful cos i had accomplished most of my tasks on my to do list. Back to that night, I feel as if am reliving the moment again :). In that tired mode i walked into the room and collapsed on Mushkins bed. She was sleeping so i woke her up with my collapse. She gave me this joking nasty look which faded away as she embraced me in a big hug and smile. I think she must have been having a bad dream and was so relieved i woke her up, just saying but hoping that was not the case.
After a long moment of pleasantries I left the room to visit the wash room. When I walked in I was greeted by smiley faces, that definitely not the same faces i left earlier so i looked a them with this weird look and asked,"why are your faces that cheerful, I don't think I have such an effect on you,#blush #blush". They laughed out loud saying how much they are happy to see me but i knew they were only joking around.
They finally broke the good news to me, "We have been invited for dinner". Yeaaaaaa!!!!!! was all i said, but i questioned, All three of us? By who? Where? This is just the best night ever!!!!They told me that one of our girlfriends had just been invited for a friends birthday and HE was sufficiently philanthropic on his birthday. "Girl it's your lucky day" I told myself.
Surely surely hard work pays in the most unusual ways. This is a very very good day. I brushed my teeth, washed my face, put on fresh make-up and put on something warm. I was good to go. To juice it all up we were picked by one of the guy's friend, apparently a 'lawyer'. Ooh this was great! great! great!
There was so much traffic so we took quite a long time to reach the City. Finally when we arrived we were dropped next to a very luxurious restaurant. I gave Mushkins this 'wow' look and exchanged smiles. As I was headed for the door our girlfriend stopped me telling me we weren't going in. I looked at her in this questioning look? "You mean we are being come for by a 'BOUNCER' V.I.P style?" I asked. When she burst out in laughter I knew either i had gone a bit too far or I read her mind, :)so i should just wait.
That was not even to be the shock of the night, the real shock came when she told me that it was not the place we were headed and truth was that the Birthday boy actually had not arrived. I now wondered if it was supposed to be a surprise party or something of that sort but it was not. He was actually in another vicinity having his moment for life and we were supposed to wait. Wait?!?Since when do girls wait, I thought to myself but cos I had been invited i kept my mouth shut and waited.
Waiting for someone on the streets is unheard of so our girlfriend asked us if we should either walk into the restaurant and order a drink as we wait or we walk around the city. We preferred walking around as we had stupidly not carried enough money to cater for meals and most especially not in that luxurious restaurant. Our walk was splendid as our City is beautiful at night with all the city lights. We walked until it got boring, and it was time to be wise and say enough is enough. We threatened our girlfriend that we were going home, but as we were walking towards the bus stop, it started to rain. The pissing thing was that the guy had even stopped picking his calls. This was a jinxed night, a very jinxed one too. How? To make things worse we did not have an umbrella. As we were waiting for it to reduce it got heavier and heavier. Luckily our girl friend met some old friends who work at a DVD store so we got to say hi and spend some time there waiting for the rain to stop. One of the guys was very handsome if I may add, wow! Now that was at least one good thing the night had dropped on us. We stayed there until they closed the store and we had to leave. We went to a fast food restaurant as it was still raining and ate some fresh fries and by the time we were through the intensity of the rain had reduced and our chance to head to the bus stop without getting very wet. We rushed and got into the bus and headed home. When we got to our destination, the rain started with a great intensity. By the time we got to the house we were drenched. What a bad night it was.
Once bitten twice shy, such an offer i shall never agree to.

THE THIEF
INSECURITY!!! INSECURITY!!! INSECURITY!!!
What is insecurity? The free dictionary simply puts it as the state of being susceptible to harm or danger.
I thought i was living in a very secure environment until something saddening happened. I personally was not affected directly but I feel the effects creeping towards me slowly, day by day.
The hood am currently living in is next to a very busy road, round the clock watch guards, security lights and even plenty of pedestrians during the day and night. Even with all this in place I must say that the place is not as secure as i thought or should i say, deemed it to be.
Last week I retired home for the evening as is my usual habit, after a long day in school. I found my two roommates Mushkins and Dolly watching a movie, but being the chatterbox i am, they had to pause and listen to my long stories of how the day was, my new found hottie and crush, the typical girl talk.
In the room i currently stay,we are supposed to be four in our room but currently are three.During that chit chat our care taker walked in with this adorable lady who was allegedly going to move in the following day. She came in and asked if we would mind if she moved in with us. We looked at each other and said,"well if you want join us its okay." She seemed so sweet and so we were all friendly to her. Later she decided to go on and check other rooms to see if she was 'MAKING THE BEST CHOICE'.
Innocently we let her and we continued with our chit chat. A few minutes later she came in and claimed to love another room more and thus she would be settling there. We told her it was okay and did not dwell much on it and we continued with what we had been doing.
We went and took supper and later after we were done, we took the plates to the kitchen only to be told that the lady was a thief and she had stolen a laptop.
@_@ was the look our faces read when we were told.
HOW? HER? THE SWEET GIRL? NO!!! YOU MUST BE MISTAKEN.... Was what was running in my mind.
The owner and some of her friends tried to follow her and trace her but to no avail. "SHE WAS GONE!!!"
What was our watchman doing? I thought. How could he let her go?
After gathering all the tales of the encounter with the girl, we now realized that we had been victims of Foul play and now she had disappeared with someone's laptop.
The safe hood was no longer safe and everyone was a suspect.
I was traumatized and still am. How can a robbery happen in our home? When everyone is around?
INSECURITY how have you turned me into a victim?
Now i live in fear, knowing that someone may ponce on me any minute and my safety is at risk.
When i walk in the streets everyone is a suspect, i clutch my purse a little bit tighter now, am always looking back to see if am being followed, always walking a little bit faster to get home which is a bit more 'secure' and always in fear of what could happen next.
HOW DID WE GET HERE? WHAT SHALL WE DO???

SOMETHING TO ALWAYS REMEBER....xoxo
When things in your life seem , almost
too much to handle,When 24 Hours in a day is not
enough, Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups
...
of coffee. A professor stood before his philosophy
class. And had some items in front of him. When
the class began, wordlessly, He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to
fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students, if
the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The
professor then picked up a box of pebbles and
poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if
the jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and
poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up
everything else. He asked once more if the jar was
full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.' The professor then produced two cups of
coffee from under the table and poured the entire
contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty
space between the sand. The students laughed.
'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided,
'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things - family,
children, health, Friends, and Favorite passions –
Things that if everything else was lost and only
they remained, Your life would still be full. The
pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.
The sand is everything else --The small stuff.
'If you put the sand into the jar first,' He continued,
'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.
If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff,
You will never have room for the things that are
important to you.
So... Pay attention to the things that are critical to
your happiness.
Play With your children. Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner. There will always
be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.
'Take care of the golf balls first --
The things that really matter. Set your priorities.
The rest is just sand.' One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.
The professor smiled. 'I'm glad you asked'.
It just goes to show you that no matter how full
your life may seem, there's always room for a
couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'

ALBINISM,,, THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW : THEY ARE LIKE YOU AND I
Today I have learned something
interesting that I would love to
share... You may know, you may not know and some information will be shockin!!
It 's about :ALBINISM' and it's
time for me to teach you ...
ALBINISM
Albinism is a congenital
disorder characterized by the
complete or partial absence of
pigment in the skin, hair and eyes
due to absence or defect of an enzyme involved in the production of
melanin.
Albinism results from inheritance
of recessive gene alleles and is known
to affect all vertebrates, including
humans. While an organism with
complete absence of melanin is
called an albino an organism with only a diminished amount of melanin is described as albinoid .
Albinism is associated with a
number of vision defects, such as
photophobia, Nystagmus and
astigmatism. Lack of skin
pigmentation makes the organism more susceptible to sunburn and skin cancers.
People with albinism have been
‘shunned , ridiculed, tormented,
tortured and killed in cold blood’ all
over Africa, simply 'on account of the
skin colour.
The biggest threat to persons with albinism, is misleading and negative
belief systems about the condition’.
And when ‘these negative beliefs
combine with illiteracy and limited
knowledge and facts about the
situation, the net results 'are'
calamitous. ’
The utmost threat to people with
albinism in most of Africa is misleading and negative belief systems about the condition. When these negative beliefs combine with illiteracy and limited knowledge and facts about the situation, the net result can be calamitous. Some people wrongly believe that those with albinism are a cursed lot. Some believe persons with albinism are terminally ill, weak, cannot hear, and/or are intellectually challenged.
In some cultures, like the Maasai, the ‘albino’ child was traditionally
abandoned and left for dead in the
wilderness, or left at the doorstep to
be trampled upon by cattle because
of the attitude that the child who
cannot see well cannot take care of
cattle or do other communal chores
and is therefore useless.
Many are people who are convinced that persons with albinism are sterile or barren, that they are immortal, that they are mentally handicapped, or that they can cure HIV/ AIDS! Others think that acquiring some body parts of those with albinisms brings good luck and instant riches.’ Now that speaks
volumes in a continent where majority
are poor and many keep praying for
good luck to join the ranks of the rich
and powerful!
There is also a gender angle to this
issue. Mothers of children with
albinism are the primary victims from
the misconception that children with
albinism are born out of illicit affairs
with white men. It is also very
common for the mothers to be
singularly blamed for the genetic
mutation; many women are disowned
by their husband and even banished
from their communities. Such
misplaced family or community
tensions do not help matters for
children with albinism.
Organizations have been set up to help albinos, such as Albinism Society of Kenya whose motto is being ‘Don’t stare, just ask,' .Education on what albinism is,is the first step to the end of stigmatization and myths.
Say No to iliteracy on Albinism, they are like YOU AND ME!!!!
